Parameters of the Finnish power grid in 1978–1979 (Pirjola & Lehtinen 1985). Upper part: nodes, lower part: transmission lines. Locations of the stations are approximate. The earthing and line resistances Re are given in ohms. Pirjola & Lehtinen (1985) and Pirjola (2009) assumed a zero Re at the Swedish border stations Letsi and Messaure. We use the value of 0.50 Ω to roughly approximate the effect of the rest of the Swedish power grid. Note that there are presently many more stations in Finland, and their parameters differ from the ones given here.
