The upper panel shows SAC-C electron fluxes as a function of time for the indicated energy range and position. The green dashed line corresponds to the steady state at that position. The orange dashed vertical lines indicate the time of occurrence of a storm event, corresponding to a Dst minimum (lower panel). The red vertical segments correspond to the observed flux enhancements. The blue lines show the result of the fitting procedure of the decreasing after-storm fluxes with an exponential function. The resulting lifetimes are also indicated (Benck et al. 2010).
