The distributions of ap and Ap* values. The mauve and blue lines are the c.d.f.s of, respectively, Ap* and ap values for 1959–2017, inclusive. The black line is the histogram of N/Nmax, where N is the number of Ap* samples in bins 0.5 wide and Nmax is the maximum value of N. The vertical white and grey bands divide the distribution of Ap* into the 20-percentiles, each containing ΣN/20 = 8612 samples.
