Solar wind and geomagnetic (aa, Kp × 10) indices for a two solar rotation interval during May–June in 2009, the year of minimum storm activity since at least 1964, in the same format as Figure 2. Note the absence of high-speed streams, although weak recurrent streams that rarely exceed 400 km s−1 can be identified. One G1 storm occurred during this period, associated with the interaction region ahead of a corotating stream.
