Snapshots of the CME simulation at three different heliospheric distances: 0.18 AU, 0.48 AU, and 0.98 AU. The upper panel corresponds to the CME velocity profiles (shade in gray) while the bottom panel shows the CME density profiles (shade in red). The input parameters correspond to the event of July 25, 2004, studied by Falkenberg et al. (2010); Vršnak et al. (2010) and as the parametric study reference used in this work (see Sect. 3).
