GPS L2 signal fades during the solar radio bursts on 25 June 2015 (left) and on 11 April 2013 (right). It can be noted how the signal fades (bottom panels) correlate well with the right-hand circular polarization of the bursts, but not with their total intensity. The solar radio observations (top panels) are from ESA’s SMOS mission. The GPS L2 data (bottom panels) are from the IGS CHUM station and were recorded with a local solar elevation angle of approximately 55°.
