Example of GPS L2 signal fades (bottom panel) whose temporal profile exhibits morphological inconsistencies with the RHCP of the 1.4 GHz SRB (top panel). These inconsistencies are exacerbated by the sharp transition in intensity that the bursts had in the 1.0–1.4 GHz frequency range (see Marqué et al., 2018). The burst corresponds to Event 17 in Table 1. The GPS data are from five random IGS stations and the SRB observations are from SMOS.
