Sometimes the cavity component of a CME is not easily detectable and may depend on the viewpoint. Here we see two images of the same CME taken from the same time from observers at different locations. (a) STEREO-A/COR2 image from 2013/05/05 19:39UT; (b) STEREO-B/COR2 image taken at the same time. A cavity is visible in COR2-A (indicated with the arrow), but not in COR2-B. At this time the STEREO spacecraft were separated by a (heliographic) longitudinal angle of 83°.
