A segmented image created by CHIMERA for 31 October 2016. CHs regions are extracted from the background quiet Sun and quiet Sun regions trapped within CH boundaries are ignored and removed from detections. Notably off-limb detections, likely to be plumes, are present in this segmented image due to their high correlation with on-disk CH regions and matching thermal properties to CHs.
