Snapshot of EUHFORIA simulation employing a toroidal flux rope currently being tested at University of Helsinki. The CME propagates at the interface of a slow and fast solar wind. The field line connected to Earth is shown as the thick blue/green curve and exhibits a complex connectivity with the flux rope magnetic field. The flux rope experiences significant asymmetric erosion, being more prominent at the western flank in this case.
