Example of applying AMPS for rigidity cutoff calculation. The map is calculated for an altitude of 500 km. Left: Rigidity cutoff map calculated for quiet geomagnetic conditions. Right: Depression of the rigidity cutoff during a geomagnetic storm. The calculation was performed for conditions of the geomagnetic storm on 17 March 2015. One can see that the general rigidity cutoff patterns have changed mostly in the mid-latitude region (from Tenishev et al., 2021).
