FACs and ground magnetic perturbations due to shock compression on 17 March 2015 from a high-resolution BATSRUS run coupled with CRCM and IE. The simulated magnetic perturbations at Poker Flat were compared with the real magnetometer observations. The results shown here illustrate the capacity of the SWMF to resolve mesoscale features of the magnetospheric dynamics in high-resolution MHD (Zou et al., 2017).
