Example of a boundary condition derived from the SMB of February 15, 2018. The HCS is identified with the SMB (top left panel), from which we derive an angular distance δ (top right), and a wind velocity (bottom left, with d = 10°). The magnetic flux is evenly distributed on each side of the HCS/SMB, in the B r component (bottom right).
