Depiction of the one-dimensional simulation geometry, where an oblique shock propagates along a diverging magnetic field B away from the solar surface with a shock obliquity θBn and speed Vs along the modeled magnetic field line. The model is simulated along z (origin at the solar surface) and the magnetic field strength depends on it by B(z) = B0ez/L. Z is measured along z, but Z = 0 is fixed at the shock.
