The 500 kV power network investigated in this paper and located in central Brazil. The transmission lines shown in blue were installed in 2006 and those in red earlier. The locations of the VSS magnetic observatory and of the nearest EMBRACE/INPE magnetic stations (SJC, CXP) used to interpolate geomagnetic data are presented by green marks.
