The color scale represents the following quantity: v · B/(cs||B||), which is the solar wind velocity projected on the magnetic field in units of Mach number. The black line corresponds to the Alfvén surface where the wind speed equals the Alfvén speed. White lines correspond to the poloidal magnetic field lines of positive polarity in solid and negative polarity in dashed lines. We represent only the 10 first solar radii.
