Schematic representation of the temporal alignment scheme. Two time windows of size W are selected and treated as parallel streams of features. The first time window is offset C days from the target forecast date. The second time window is offset some time H with respect to the forecasted time window. In this visual example, a single set of CH measurements is displayed in the interest of brevity, with W = 5, H = 5, and C = 27.26.
